My best friend works in a salon that sells 2 different lines of hair products. She said the owner charges double what she pays for them and does a pretty good retail business. Is this amount Standard for marking up hair products for retail? How much do salons mark up retail products?
Yes, retail hair products are usually marked up 50-75% of what a licensed cosmetologist can purchase them for.How much do salons mark up retail products?
No, especially if it's a boutique item you can mark the products up as high as 200%, gold and diamonds are marked up as high as 2000%. Unless the product is commonly sold everywhere then you need to stay with the suggested retail price, but if it's a specialty item you can be an exclusive retailer of the product and sell it for the retail price that fits your clientele and demographics area.
Hi I had same yahoo query like yours . I got one of the best answer by searching at below site.
